Deepika to shoot with Hema Malini
Deepika Padukone is super excited. She is set to shoot with Hema
Malini who has floored Dips by complimenting her work and looks.
Hema we hear told Deepika that if there is a dream girl in today's generation, then it is she. In fact, very interestingly in Deepika's debut film, Om Shanti Om, Deepika is referred to as the 'Dreamy Girl' in the film, which was an ode to Hema Malini's Dream Girl image. Deepika says, "It is an absolute honour to work with Hemaji. She is so lovely and graceful. She is one of the finest actresses of all times. I'm very excited to learn from her."

Deepika Padukone to Turn Item Girl for Pawan Kalyan’s Teenmaar?
Here’s the latest buzz on Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's forthcoming
film ‘Teenmaar.’ Bollywood ravishing beauty Deepika Padukone will be
doing an item number for the film.
Deepika has recently done a sensuous item number in ‘Dum Maaro Dum.’ This has now become the much-talked item song and the entire B-Town is keen and eagerly waiting for the song. In such a context, roping in Deepika for an item number in ‘Teenmaar’ would be a big addition to the film.
South films are not new to Deepika. In fact, her film career began in the South (with a Kannada film).
Another interesting fact is that ‘Teenmaar’ is the remake of Bollywood film ‘Love Aaj Kal’ in which Deepika played the female lead. And the actress is said to be excited to be part of remake of her own film.
Sources close to film unit say that the actress has already shot the foot-tapping item number in Hyderabad and the song is expected to be a super hit this year.
Directed by Jayanth C Parajani is touted to be youthful romantic comedy entertainer. It is given the tag line ‘Celebration of Love.’ Pawan Kalyan plays duel role in the film and Trisha is paired up with him. Kriti Karbhanda (of Bony fame) plays an important role.
Actor-turned producer Ganesh Babu is producing the film on Parameshwara Arts Productions Banner. Music is composed by Mani Sharma.
Makers of the film are planning to release it as summer special in the last week of March. Audio release is planned in the first week of March.

Deepika and Ranbir in Ayaan Mukherjee's next?
Ayaan Mukherjee's next film is definitely one to watch out for.
The director who wowed us with mesmerizing chemistry between the unusual
paring of Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in Wake Up Sid is back.
His next directorial venture is already making ripples in the industry
courtesy the lead pair. Ranbir Kapoor has been retained by the talented
young director and if reports are correct this time he will be pitted
opposite his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone. Deepika and Ranbir have
previously worked together in Bachna Ae Haseeno. Though their pairing
was only part of the film due to the other two actresses, their
chemistry was evident in the romantically shot song 'Khuda Jaane'.
Apparently Deepika was Ayaan's original choice for the role as per the script. Deepika also loved the script, but took time before giving her final nod.
Recently the former lovers had bitter exchange over the now infamous episode of Koffee with Karan where Deepika had not so nice things to say about Ranbir. After much intervention from Rishi Kapoor and Karan Johar things seem to have calmed down a bit. Bollywood has had a history of sworn enemies and exes not sharing the screen space together. They even avoid clashing each other at award shows or parties. Kareena Kapoor refused to promote Milenge Milenge with ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor. Well ,it’s time for them to take lessons from Bipasha Basu who has maintained an amazing equation with her ex-boyfriend Dino Morea.
Now how things will transpire on-screen and behind the scenes when the film shoot begins is something we will have to wait and watch.
As for the cine goers, we look forward to see the crackling chemistry appear on screen and let the movie talk for itself. Hope the film is talked about for all the right reasons and not just the media hype over its lead pair.

Deepika's Shortest Skirt, Ever
For her item number in Dum Maaro Dum, Deepika Padukone was to wear
an Anahita Adajania Shroff outfit a sexy bikini halter-top paired with
the shortest skirt she's ever designed.
Deepika was aware of this and had worked hard to get into shape so she could fit into the ensemble. However, the skirt was too short for her. The actress got it changed to shorts in stead.
A source explains the need for the change, "The skirt Anahita designed barely covered the actress's derriere yet looked stunning on her.
During trials, she received several compliments. Director Rohan Sippy had briefed her and she understood that the song needed sexy clothes. The trouble began when she started rehearsing for the song.
The steps were difficult to do because of the skirt's length."
Rohan had the option to change the dance steps to make her feel comfortable in the skirt. However, Deepika insisted they keep the choreography and switch from skirt to shorts instead.
Adds the source, "She walked up to Rohan and told him there was no way she could move her legs and do the steps in the skirt.
A consensus was reached and the outfit was changed soon after. The actress ended up wearing shorts and tassels over it to look like a skirt."
Mallika Sherawat 'skirted' controversy recently when her designer created an outfit that was "too sexy" for Anees Bazmee's "family film" Thank You's item number, Raziya Phans Gayi Gundo Mein.

Bips, Deepika's fight over first look
It seems the title song of Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum, an item
number picturised on Deepika Padukone, has ruffled quite a few feathers.
First it was Dev Anand who raised an objection to how no one had contacted him about the rights of the song from his 1970s blockbuster Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
Then it was the Goan government itself that started getting tetchy about how the tropical paradise was being depicted (accurately, some could say, with Russian mafia and drugged out teens).
Now apparently Bipasha Basu, the leading lady of the film is stomping her foot; the item number, starring Deepika Padukone, is what is being perceived as the first look of the film. In fact the poster only has Deepika grooving to the number and no one else.

Shahrukh Khan’s ‘D’ tattoo for Deepika Padukone
There is a lot of buzz surrounding the ‘D’ tattoo on Shahrukh
Khan’s arm. The Khan who is not fond of tattoos is more than happy to
flaunt it, but what does ‘D’ stands for? Ask SRK, and he will show his
wit.
Known for his sense of humour, Khan loves to give witty replies to the questioned tossed at him. The star is constantly being asked what the tattoo ‘D’ stands for, and he replies, “It’s for Deepika Padukone!” His wonderful Om Shanti Om co-star.
However, this ‘D’ is a mehendi tattoo which looks like a permanent one and it is for his upcoming action thriller Don 2. So ‘D’ stands for Don, once the star is done with the film, the tattoo will be gone.
Till that time Deepika can enjoy all the attention.

Deepika to star opposite Salman?
The latest buzz is Deepika Padukone is a frontrunner to star
opposite Salman Khan in Ramesh Taurani's Ladies and Gentleman. Raj Kumar
Santoshi directs.
The actress has consistently mentioned in interviews that she's love to work with the Dabangg star. In the past as well, rumour mills said the two stars come together in Ready, Kick and Bodyguard, but nothing worked out. Adds the source, "Deepika was so kicked about working with Salman that she hasn't charged her market price. This is not something she does often."
However, Taurani maintains, "The film goes on floors in December but we haven't locked an actress yet." He also claims that the film has only one heroine, not three.

Rajinikanth knocks Deepika out of her feet
Folks, remember the starting lines of the King of Pop MJ song ‘The
Way You Make Me Feel’…. Yes… it is ‘Baby You Knock Me Out Of My Feet’
and exactly the same has happened with our dear tall and beautiful
Deepika Padukone.
Such is the impact and clout of the irresistible Rajinikanth – the Asian superstar… It’s learnt from our highly placed sources that Rajinikanth has delivered a knockout punch to the Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar and won over his heroine in ‘houseful’, with all hands pants and everything down.
Deepika has said no to the sequel of ‘Housefull 2’ and instead will be seen with the Asian magician on screen Mr. Rajinikanth in his forthcoming ‘Rana’ to be made under the collaboration between International media house Eros International and Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Ocher Studios.
The mega star Rajinikanth will be seen in triple role in this mighty multilingual that will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
The movie is scheduled to go on floor in March this year, will have Music by A R Rahman, Cinematography is by Ratnavelu, Editing is by Antony and Art directed by Rajeevan. The technical and special effects director will be Soundarya Rajinikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios, renowned visual effects luminary and an Emmy award winner will be the visual effects supervisor on the film. The film is scheduled to release early 2012.
Hmmmmmmm… so, is this the reason why ‘Housefull 2’ sequel got postponed…? And Akshay got a backache…? Because ‘Housefull 2’ was also scheduled to go on floor around the same time ‘Rana’ goes on floors…..
Well that’s Rajini the choice of millions after millions of many around the globe and Deepika has chosen the global icon over Akshay who is losing ground film after film.
Smart and practical choice Deepikaji!! This girl knows what she wants….

Deepika turns edgier for Dum for Dum
For the first time, the pretty Deepika Padukone decided to re-fashion her pretty looks for a glamorous and sexy avatar.
Hey kya phir dekh raha hai, the peppy song in Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum will see the Bollywood diva in a never-before look, with a serpent and Dum maro dum tattoo sprawled across her thigh. The song is not an item number but a part of the story but promises to the highlight of the film, according to the director.
“I was very impressed with Deepika’s dancing prowess in Love Aaj Kal and wanted to explore this ability further, and show a new side of the actress. The number was conceived keeping her in mind,” said Rohan.
Bosco-Ceasar, who choreographed the number, said that the stunning tattoo makes a style statement and makes Deepika look really cool. “Every actor wants to explore himself and present a different look whenever he or she can. Deepika was very excited by this hardcore dance number with high energy steps, something she had never attempted before. And it’s really classy,” said Bosco.

Asin to romance Rajinikanth: Ghajini girl may do a Deepika Padukone
Asin has already romanced the likes of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan
in films like ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Ghajini’ and now she may well share
the screen with none other than the deity of South Indian cinema.
Rajinikanth is all set to play a triple role in the film ‘Rana’ and the
makers are reportedly eager to cast Asin as one of the lead women.
Actress Deepika Padukone has already been bagged for the project who has walked out of Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull 2’ to give dates to the Rajinikanth caper. And if reports are to be believed then the bosses have already knocked at Asin’s door to cast her in as the 2nd lead lady.
This is giving serious headaches to the ‘Housefull 2’ producers since Asin (who replaced Deepika in the film) may ape the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress and walk out of the comic caper to be a part of the Rajini film.
‘Rana’ would be releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and this trilingual flick is being produced by Rajinikanth’s daughter Saundarya who is leaving no stone unturned to make the project one of the biggest ones of dad’s career.
But after Deepika’s exit from ‘Housefull 2’ if Asin does the same it would be a head-hammering moment for Sajid Khan. Poor guy seems to be bearing the brunt of a Rajini explosion.

The most ‘Wanted’ girls of Bollywood--Priyanka vs Deepika!
Though Katrina topped the list of Most Desirable women this year, Priyanka Chopra
and Deepika Padukone have followed her closely at the third and fourth position respectively. Well…….ranks do matter…..but that doesn’t make them ‘less desirable’!
Ex Miss World Priyanka Chopra and Supermodel turned actress Deepika Padukone are both known for their sexy images in the industry. While Priyanka is Deepika’s senior in the industry, both are much sought over actresses for films as well as brand endorsements. While Piggy Chops charges a big amount of 5 crores for a film, Deepika is said to have hiked her fees to about a crore of rupees for endorsing a brand. Both the actresses seem to have their hands full!
Priyanka’s sexy avatar in the golden bikini in the film Dostana and her scintillating item number in the song ‘Desi Girl’ turned all heads everywhere she went. Her lip locks in films like Kaminey and Anjana Anjaani have added to the oomph quotient that she brings on screen every time we see her. Not only because of her bold attitude but Piggy Chops is also certainly one of the best actresses that we have in town today. Her portraying of the role of a struggling model who escalates fast in the modeling world in the film Fashion was commendable. It even won her the prestigious National award. Her forthcoming film, Vishal Bharadwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf is expected to be one of her best performances till date.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone, who debuted in 2007 with director Farah Khan’s film Om Shanti Om opposite King Khan, is also one of the most ‘wanted’ actresses these days. Deepika’s hour-glass figure is her asset and films like Housefull, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Love Aaj Kal have portrayed this asset to the best of abilities. Earlier in her modeling days, Deepika had turned heads with her bikini clad pose that she shot for Kingfisher Australia calendar in 2006. Deepika also endorses a number of international brands which has managed to push her into the crores club of actresses in the industry. This sultry siren is also immensely talented and with films like Khelen Hum Ji Jaan Se and Lafangey Parindey has proved her metal.
Besides their performances in the films that they do, both Priyanka and Deepika have always been in news for their personal reasons. Priyanka has been in news since she was seen in the film Kaminey opposite Shahid Kapur. The duo are said to be in love and always have cameras following them wherever they go. Deepika on the other hand, has been in much news since she started dating actor Ranbir Kapoor. When the duo broke up on charges of infidelity, Deepika was all over in the media again post her comment about ‘Ranbir should be endorsing a condom brand’ in a talk show. Currently, there has been buzz about intimacy between she and her ‘good friend’ Siddharth Mallya.
With so much to boast about, both these Bollywood beauties always manage to stay in the news. That’s good for us……for people who always want to catch a sneak peek into their lives. For us……both of them are equally desirable!

Ranbir refuses to work with Deepika
Ayaan Mukherji may have to let go of his dream of working with
Deepika Padukone in his second directorial project if he wants Ranbir
Kapoor on board.
The Wake Up Sid director became close friends with RK, while shooting that film.
Says a source, "Ranbir was already a star at the time while Mukherji was a nobody. He agreed to do the film even so and the director is indebted to him for that. And because of the history they share, the young filmmaker might have to forget about working with RK's ex, despite being keen on doing so," said a source. The role of the girl in his next is of a modern girl with traditional values - something similar to Deepika's character in Love Aaj Kal.
"When Ayaan told his buddy that he wanted to sign Deepika for his next opposite him, Ranbeer flatly said no. Apart from the fact that it would be awkward for him to work with an ex-girlfriend on the sets, her spewing venom on him on Koffee With Karan and the news reports that followed after that, had upset the actor. There still is too much bitterness left between the estranged couple. Now, the director is in a fix," added the source.
Says Mukherji, "It is not true. Speculation is pointless right now because the truth is that I am still in the process of writing the script of my film. Only when the script is finalised, will we decide who suits the part best, and then approach that actress with an offer," says Ayan.
A source close to Ranbir says, "Ayaan is still working on the script so the heroine has not even been discussed as yet. Ranbir has asked him for a narration."

Deepika Padukone: Ruffling feathers of quite a few directors
Deepika Padukone might have hit it big with her debut film and
with couple of other films and has her kitty full; however, there have
been some major dunks in the box-office too. But that didn’t stop her
from ruffling the feathers of some ace directors of Bollywood.
Few weeks back it was reported that Deepika refused to work with the ace director Kalpana Lazmi citing date issues. But the director was miffed with the actress as Padukone didn’t even read the script of Lazmi’s film, while the ‘Rudali’ maker was ready to wait for the actress’ available dates. Deepika also earned the disfavor of another director – Vishal Bhardwaj.
Padukone walked out of Bhardwaj’s ambitious project ‘Dream Sequence’ that was to be made with producer Ekta Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan as the male lead. The ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress cited date problems again to refuse the offer and according to the sources Vishal had every reason to be annoyed with Deepika.
However, when quizzed about the incident both Vishal and Deepika refused to comment on it and stated on record that everything is good between them. Also one hopes that with time these two directors can forgive the leggy beauty and work with her in future.

Deepika's item song to overshadow Munni, Shiela?
Move over Munni... and Sheila..., the new item song in tinsel town
is ready to scorch the screens this summer. If the teaser of Deepika
Padukone’s item in Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum is any indication,
there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. It is learnt that she
started preparing for it from the day after she signed up for the
Pritam-composed track in the film toplining Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha
Basu and south star, Rana Dugabatti.
All those who have had a dekko of it, swear that Padukone’s song, with a heady mix of sex and drugs in the lyrics, is sure to set the screen ablaze.
Interestingly, Sippy had briefed the choreographer to ensure that it was the hottest number this year and conveyed the same to Padukone too. No wonder, stylist Anahita Shroff Adajania has created one of the shortest outfits for the actor, who even got a temporary Dum maaro dum... tattoo on her stomach.
When contacted, Bosco diplomatically says, “We certainly want the track to reach at least the level set by Munni and Shelia.” About the choreography, he says, “We’ve used a new form of aggressive dance called Krumping. It is very fast-paced and not easy. Apart from your body, you need to work your mind on it.”
The choreographer, who has previously teamed with Sippy for Right here, right now... for Bluffmaster (2005), enthused that they’re excited about venturing into a new style of dance. “After packing up her other shoots at 10 pm, Deepika rehearsed till 1 to 2 am for three days. It took us a month and a half to plan the entire sequence with Rohan, Anahita and Pritam to conceptualise the track in a jungle-like setting with the waterfalls etc. You’ve got to see it to believe it,” he says.

Deepika Padukone wants to be the hottest item girl!
If last year belonged to Sheila and Munni, this year will be of
Deepika Padukone. The Om Shanti Om gal is all set to up the mercury
level with her hot item song in Dum Maaro Dum.
Though the film has the sensuous Bipasha Basu in the lead, Deepika was approached to do a dancing number which is a modern-day version of the hit and hippy Dum Maro Dum song starring Zeenat Aman. It’s heard that Deepika wants her item song to be hotter than Katrina Kaif’s Sheila Ki Jawani, which continues to be a rage.
Sources claim that attempts are made to give the song the ‘sexiest twist’ possible. Since the original is an all-time hit, the remixed version ought to be better.
In fact, this year Kareena Kapoor also gets to sizzle in a song Chammak Chhalo from Ra.One which is again a saucy item song where the actress gets to do flaunt her svelte, toned figure.

Deepika Padukone Desperate to Beat Katrina Kaif
The patchup between Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif at Karan Johar's party a few days ago has turned out to be a hoax.
The two actresses may have been polite to each other on that occasion for Karan's sake. But their animosity is still at its peak. A unit member says, "Actions speak louder than words. Deepika certainly hates Katrina and her objective in life is to be one up on Kat. Why else would she come on the sets of Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum and tell the choreographer that the item song that was picturised on her to the remixed version of the 70s ditty Dum Maro Dum from Hare Rama Hare Krishna should be hotter than Sheila Ki Jaawani."
The insider continues, "Deepika said this to the choreographer with a smile, but there was a note of warning in her voice when she gave that diktat."
This story may be slightly exaggerated but it is certainly believable because Deepika does hold a lot of grudges against Kat. And the Bangalore beauty feels the only way she can get back at Kat is by scoring over her professionally. The source continues, "Since Sheila was the rage of 2010, Deepika wants Dum Maro... to be the rage this year."
An assistant director confirms that attempts were made to give this song the sexiest twist possible, but denies getting any diktat from Deepika. Incidentally one hears from another source that Kat does not approve of Ranbir and Deepika staying in touch on sms. Must say the drama happening here is material enough for a potboiler!

Should Deepika apologise?
After her outburst against Ranbir on Karan Johar's show KOFFEE
WITH KARAN, Deepika Padukone's real life has become an exercise in hide
and seek.
Reveals our source, "Wherever the star actress goes, the shadows of her comments don't leave her company. Such is Deepika's misery that she has to check out the timetable of some people before she can attend an event or an award ceremony."
And the two people that Deepika is scared of are Ranbir's mom and dad. Ever since her comments against Ranbir on the TV show, Ranbir's parents have been vying for revenge. But the actress is smartly tackling the issue by maintaining a safe distance.
But the possibility of a close encounter is giving Deepika sleepless nights. Deepika's caustic comments have damaged the fabric of her earlier equation with Ranbir's parents. It is worth to mention that there used to be a time when Deepika was the most welcome guest at Ranbir's home. Now, the equation has taken a complete U turn.
Our source has a word of advice for Deepika. Says he, "The only way Deepika can get out of this situation is by coming up with a public apology. This will ease the tension that she had added to herself post the comments."
Well, apology or no apology is entirely the prerogative of the actress. But, let's hope she chooses a way of less conflict for herself.

I still have to find the right man: Deepika
She is still looking for the right man, says Deepika Padukone who
is often spotted with industrialist Vijay Mallya's son Siddharth after
breaking up with Ranbir Kapoor.
"I haven't thought of marriage. I still have to find the right man to even consider marriage," Deepika told reporters at Imran Khan and Avantika's wedding reception Saturday where she came with Sidhharth.
When the reporters asked Siddharth about their relationship, he too passed the buck on Deepika saying: "I have planned nothing as yet. You should ask her."
Commenting upon the rumours about his and Deepika's relationship, he said: "I was out of the country when I heard of it, it made me laugh."
Deepika, who featured with Imran in " Break Ke Baad", said it was must for her to attend her co-star's wedding reception.
"I owe it to Imran. I was shooting in Bhopal and have just landed and coming straight from the airport to attend the reception," she said.

Deepika throws starry tantrums
Seems like the bombshell Deepika Padukone who was thought to be
with her feet on the ground, is not less than the other Bollywood
hotties in throwing starry tantrums.
Tabloids have it that the slender beauty Deepika, who has been zeroed in for the revised item track ‘Dum Maro Dum’, out of the blue refused to do the lip syncing of the offensive words in the dance number.
Apparently, the actress made it clear to the director that she would be doing the item number only if the she was permitted to count out mouthing the objectionable lyrics. This hullabaloo took place just four days before the making of the song.
The actress who rose to fame with her debut film ‘Om Shanti Om’ and has been in the industry hardly since three years, turned a tough nut for filmmaker Rohan Sippy who is directing the forthcoming flick ‘Dum Maro Dum.’
Finally, Deepika agreed for the song
However, director Rohan Sippy not willing to upset the lady killer Deepika played safe and found out a way for convincing the actress.
Grapevine has it that the filmmaker assured the actress that the song would be choreographed as per her comfort level and it was only then that Deepika agreed for the shoot.
Discussing about the appropriate changes to be made in the sequence of steps, a source close to the unit said, "Sippy told Deepika that every time she was expected to mouth the objectionable lyrics, her back would face the camera. Therefore she will only mouth lyrics that she is comfortable with."
The song has been rewritten by Jaideep Sahni and its piece of music is recreated by the outstanding music composer Pritam Chakraborty.
The cast of ‘Dum Maro Dum’
Directed by Rohan Sippy, the movie ‘Dum Maro Dum’ is being produced by Fox Star Studios and Ramesh Sippy.
The film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu as the lead pair, along with Kangna Ranaut, Aditya Pancholi, Rana Daggubati and Prateik Babbar.
The film will probably hit the big screen on April 22, this year.

Deepika Padukone refuses to do 'it'
Some have inhibitions with shedding clothes, some have it for
intimate scenes but actress Deepika Padukone has a different kind of
inhibition and from the looks of it, nothing will make her do it. The
star has a problem with lip-syncing explicit lyrics.
The actress is shaking a leg and more for a remake of the iconic number Dum Maaro Dum. While the song, filmed on Zeenat Aman and a bunch of duped foreigners had created enough controversy to last a lifetime, it seems Deepika has no such intentions for her song. The song has some controversial lyrics, which Deepika has flatly refused to lip-sync to, reported Mumbai Mirror.
At first excited about doing the remake of the cult song for Rohan Sippy's film Dum Maaro Dum, Deepika was scandalised to hear the explicit lyrics of the new version. She apparently had a long meeting with Rohan Sippy and told him she won't mouth objectionable words.
Rohan Sippy was quite confident of working a way outm so here's what he decided. "Sippy told Deepika that every time she was expected to mouth the objectionable lyrics, her back would face the camera. Therefore, she will only mouth lyrics that she is comfortable with," a source told the tabloid.
The lyrics have been written by Jaideep Sahni, who has been credited with the screenplay of films like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Chak De! India and Tere Bein Laden. The music has been composed by Pritam and he promises the song is quite something.
"This song will shake you up. It's bold beyond words," he said.

Deepika's Dum Maro Dum with a twist
In Rohan Sippy's next Deepika Padukone refused to lip-sync
objectionable lyrics in the remixed version of the song Dum Maaro Dum,
and had her way.
Just days ago, Deepika Padukone finished gyrating to the iconic number Dum Maro Dum Mit Jaye Gham for Rohan Sippy's forthcoming film Dum Maro Dum, but strictly on her own terms.
Deepika was very excited to fill Zeenat Aman's shoes in the remixed version of the Hare Rama Hare Krishna original.
But the actress was shocked when she heard the lyrics of this changed version. While Pritam has directed the musical score, Jaideep Sahni has written the lyrics of the remixed version.
The new song has some very objectionable language. "The lyrics were full of bold words," says a close friend of Deepika's. Four days before the actual shoot began at Mehboob Studios, Deepika had a long meeting with Rohan Sippy.
She told him in no uncertain terms that she would shoot for the song only if she could omit lip-syncing the objectionable lyrics.
Sippy thought for a while, and told her, 'Come along. We'll work out a way'. A relieved Deepika reached on the sets to learn that Sippy had indeed lived up to his promise.
Revealed the source, "Sippy told Deepika that every time she was expected to mouth the objectionable lyrics, her back would face the camera. Therefore she will only mouth lyrics that she is comfortable with."
When contacted, music composer of the remixed version, Pritam Chakraborty told Mumbai Mirror, "Shooting mein kya hua mujhe nahin pata. But yes, this song will shake you up. It's bold beyond words.
We have composed it keeping today's very young and modern generation in mind. Big deal yaar, today's generation loves it this way."
Deepika remained unavailable for comment but if she has any other reservations about the song, she can safely put it all 'behind' her now.

We have composed it keeping today's very young and modern generation in mind. Big deal yaar, today's generation loves it this way."
Deepika remained unavailable for comment but if she has any other reservations about the song, she can safely put it all 'behind' her now.

Katrina patches up with Deepika
It's patch up season in Bollywood. First, Kareena Kapoor and
Priyanka Chopra solved their differences with a warm hug. Then Shahid
Kapoor spoke to his ex girlfriend Kareena for the first time last week
since their break up. Now, we heard that Katrina Kaif and Deepika
Padukone have patched up.
Katrina and Deepika bumped into each other at the party hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar to celebrate his Filmfare Best Director award. Sources said that Deepika walked up to Katrina and told her to forget the past, as she has moved on in life. Katrina replied that she was happy that she spoke to her.
The duo looked very comfortable with each other and partied together in spite of the presence of their 'good friends' Ranbir Kapoor and Siddharth Mallya.
It may be recalled that cold war started between the actresses after Katrina got close to Ranbir, the then boyfriend of Deepika.
Let's hope they become friends, now that they have broken the ice!

Deepika, Asin and a tale of filmi friendship
Bollywood is a place where conflicts between friends occur quite
easily. But good buddies Deepika Padukone and Asin's friendship is
refreshingly different.
The two actresses are good friends and they don't let professional decisions affect their friendship. The buzz is that Asin has replaced Deepika in the Housefull sequel.
Earlier, Sajid Nadiadwala had planned to cast Deepika as the lead in the sequel of his superhit film. But, Deepika opted out of it, giving the "no dates" excuse. So, Sajid immediately filled the place with Asin.
Sources say: "Deepika and Asin are good friends. And so, everybody thought this might lead to a problem between the two. But, these girls are thoroughly professional." Deepika, meanwhile, has opted out of Nadiadwala's Heer Aur Ranjha opposite Shahid Kapoor. She is said to be keen on working with Shah Rukh Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj's film based on Chetan Bhagat's 2 States. However, Bhardwaj is on the lookout for someone younger.
Asin, we hear, is charged up about her role in Housefull 2. She was keen to work opposite Akshay Kumar and in this film, she will be able to do that. She had planned to work with Akshay in Priyadarshan's De Dana Dan, but had opted out at the last minute.
